What To Expect: Naturopathic Appointments
Initial Appointment ($160)
Your first visit is between 1-1½ hours long. This amount of time is needed to gather all the necessary information to understand the nature of your health concern, as well as all the factors in your life that contribute to your health and wellbeing. This is important because no single condition is separate from the rest of the body. Treating a disease goes hand in hand with improving the health of the body as a whole.
A detailed charting of your chief complaint is done, as well as a thorough medical history, a brief physical examination (if required), and a review of your diet. Other factors that affect your health are also reviewed, such as the quality of your sleep, your energy level, your digestion, your emotional health, etc.
Based on all this information, an appropriate course of treatment will be recommended. In more complicated cases, short term and long term health goals will be set, and a plan to achieve them implemented. The goals and plans will be agreed upon by both you and your doctor to encourage a co-operative framework for improving your health.
Acute Appointments ($50)
Follow-up Appointment ($100-70)
Sometimes we wake up with a cold we just can't shake or pull a muscle while out doing chores. As a regular patient of the clinic we offer acute appointments for these acute issues. Appointments typically take 20 minutes depending on the complexity of the case, and may be booked on a daily basis. The appointment will consist of a short intake and possibly a complaint-specific physical examination if it is warranted. A Diagnosis will be provided, although diagnostic testing may also be needed, as well as treatment.
Follow-up appointments are anywhere from 1-4 weeks after your initial consultation. These visits are typically 30-60 minutes and during this time, you will be asked about any changes from the last appointment and how you have been doing with the recommendations. Additionally, the follow-up consultations allow you to work with the naturopathic doctor to go through what treatment options are available for your concerns and goals and work with them to develop a treatment plan that fits your individualized needs.
Regular follow-ups are important as they allow us to monitor your progress, change therapies as necessary to ensure you are best able to reach your health goals, and to support you to keep you motivated during the process. As your treatment plan gets set in place, you will need less frequent follow-up consultations.
Please contact the office by phone if no appointments appear to be available online and we will do our best to ensure you get the care you need.
